Position: Stores Manager

Location: CS Academy, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining the inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for the school's operations.
  • Overseeing the procurement process, monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and ensuring that adequate supplies are available for various departments within the school.
  • Responsible for organizing and categorizing inventory items, tracking usage and consumption patterns, and implementing efficient storage and retrieval systems to optimize inventory management.
  • Budgeting and forecasting inventory needs, negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing
  • Coordinating with different departments to fulfill their specific inventory requirements.
  • Implementing inventory control procedures to prevent loss, theft, or damage to inventory items, as well as maintaining accurate records of all transactions and inventory movements.
  • Coordinating the disposal or recycling of obsolete or surplus inventory items in a responsible manner.
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school's supply chain and inventory management processes.
  • Managing a team of 10 plus support staff

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong leadership and management abilities to oversee a team of maintenance staff and custodians.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, vendors, and school administration.
  • Problem-solving skills to address facility-related issues and implement solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage inventory and supplies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with vendors, staff, and school administration.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and inventory management.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address any issues related to procurement, storage, or distribution of supplies.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and software to track and monitor stock levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Certification in inventory management or procurement may be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with school operations and educational supply needs.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in stores / inventory management.
